Redmond Campus Expansion/Renovation

St. Charles Redmond is one of the leading hospitals in Oregon. Through excellent quality measures, patient satisfaction and steady financial performance, our hospital continues to evoke community pride, be a valuable source of health services and serve as an engine for economic development.

As a testament to the St. Charles Foundation's ongoing commitment to promote good health in Redmond , we've initiated an effort to raise $200,000 to support an expansion of the emergency department and a renovation of the family birthing center. By partnering with our Redmond community to invest in this project, we'll build on the successes of St. Charles Redmond, improve health and enhance patient care.

Emergency Department Expansion

We're all comforted to know that we can count on St. Charles Redmond's high quality emergency medical services when an unexpected need arises. The expansion of our Emergency Department is a key step in maintaining the level of care that our community needs and expects from St. Charles Redmond. The project will create more privacy for patients and a more comfortable environment for loved ones.

Emergency Department Expansion Details:

  • Front entrance will be ADA compliant, registration will be more private and include space for financial counseling.
  • Build walls and doors in 5 exam rooms for increased privacy and safety.
  • Construct a safe room for patients who require behavioral health services.
  • Enlarge the waiting area from 8 to 22 seats and add a restroom nearby.
  • Create a 4 bed overflow area to prepare for times of high volume and add additional restroom facilities.

Family Birthing Center Renovation

When Redmond families experience the joy of child birth in a nurturing environment at their local hospital, it's a credit to our community. With two new obstetricians and a lack of delivery services in Prineville, births at St. Charles Redmond are expected to grow. Family Birthing Center renovations will support a special and soothing birth experience for mothers and their loved ones, while creating an efficient space for physicians and caregivers to provide the very best care.

Family Birthing Center Renovation Details:

  • Enhance four patient rooms with new paint, flooring, furnishings and artwork.
  • Upgrade bathrooms to be larger, fitted with water jetted bathtubs, plumbed with new pipes and equipped with pocket doors for improved ADA compliance.
  • Add an external control feature to the ventilation system that will promote family comfort without interrupting the birth experience.
  • Remodel birthing suites to create a serene space that is also efficient for the care team by installing special lighting, cabinetry for medical equipment and other safety enhancements.
  • Improve courtyard access for families and update drainage system to eliminate potential water damage to the facility.
