Is palliative care the same as hospice care?

No. Hospice care is meant specifically for those approaching the last stages of life. Palliative care is appropriate for any stage of a serious illness.

When is the right time for palliative care?

It is appropriate at any age and at any stage of an illness. It is best introduced early in your care and can be provided at the same time as curative treatments.

How can I receive support from the AIM program?

For an AIM consultation, please ask your attending physician to place a referral to our program.
